Summary
When a vehicle assigned to a Route in Bytecurve 360 is swapped out in the Dispatch screen, the system checks for Keys that are assigned to the same vehicle in the Parent App (if applicable) and prompts the user to indicate if the same bus swap needs to be cascaded to the Parent App Keys.
This feature will help dispatchers and routers reduce the time necessary in situations, such as a mechanical failure on a vehicle, and the vehicle needs to be swapped out for a period of time in the future.
Performing a Bus Reassignment from Dispatch Module
To perform a Bus Reassignment, from the Dispatch interface, locate the route for which you need to assign an alternate vehicle, and click on the Name or Number of the vehicle assigned to that task, in this example we will use task 507 AM which is currently assigned to be covered by vehicle 172662.
For this example, lets simulate the reassignment of this task to be covered by the vehicle 175974 as we can see it is currently available for the time frame of this task (6:35AM to 8:15AM) because it is not indicated as otherwise assigned by being accompanied by a green "star" icon next to the vehicle name.
After selecting the desired vehicle for reassignment, click the Save icon at the far right of the row you are editing. If this task is associated with Keys which are also associated with Keys utilized by the same vehicle in the Parent App, the user will be prompted for the ability to perform a Cascading Bus Reassignment as shown below.
If you wish to proceed with the Cascading Bus Reassignment, please select all of the keys which you wish to cascade the reassignment to and click Submit.
A message will appear, verifying that your reassignment was successful, along with details of the reassignment.
This same workflow can be repeated for as many tasks, and their associated vehicles, as necessary to make your daily bus reassignments.
Please note! The bus reassignments performed here are only for the date selected on the Dispatch module when performing the reassignment. It is not possible to perform a bus reassignment for multiple days at once via the Dispatch module.
