In instances where a vehicle services more than one location, vehicle sharing can be used.
Enabling Sharing
To enable sharing, follow these steps:
- Navigate to Admin > Operational Settings.
- On the operations tab select Yes for “Allow location to share vehicles with other locations” (see screenshot below).
3. Once this setting is enabled vehicles will be shareable across multiple locations.
a. Bytecurve team will need to create a pool of locations for which the sharing will be possible.
Vehicle Sharing
To share vehicles, follow the steps below:
- Navigate to Set-up > Vehicles.
- For a vehicle that needs to be shared, under the action column press the
icon. - A pop-out window for sharing the vehicle will appear. Specify the start and end dates, before clicking Save.
- Note that end date is not required, but start date is.
- Note that although the option to loan the vehicle is displayed, it is not yet functional.
4. Once the vehicle has been shared it will be available for use in the shared location. A vehicle that is being shared will have an arrow icon next to its name (see screenshot below).
a. Setting an end date will remove assignments from both the master and the daily task assignments in the shared location.
a. Note that the system will check to ensure that the vehicle is not already assigned to a task. If the vehicle is indeed already assigned to a conflicting task, in a different location, a star will appear next to its name (see screenshot below).
