Bytecurve360 (Scheduling & Dispatch, Time & Attendance)
Technology upgrades:
The main change in this release pertains to technology upgrades to the underlying Java libraries and third party user interface libraries on which the Bytecurve applications are built. These upgrades help with overall system performance, maintainability and security, and need to be taken up every few years to keep the system current with advances in technology.
New features:
- Back-end changes to enable mobile device applications to work for Canada, namely the Bytecurve Timeclock app and DriveOn app. Additional changes to the mobile app need to be completed for these applications to work for Canadian customers and updated releases of these apps will be distributed when these changes are complete.
Enhancements:
- Increased the number of rows (tasks) displayed on the Dispatch and Verify Payroll screens, to better utilize the screen real-estate available for display.
- The Add Employee Task function has been modified to facilitate the addition of multiple tasks in sequence with the option to 'save and add another', which saves the task being added and refreshes the 'add employee task' screen to allow the addition of the next task. This change applies when this function is invoked from the Dispatch screen and from the Verify Payroll screen
- The 'Multi Employee sign in/out' function has been enhanced with the following:
- Option to list tasks that do not have an employee assigned, to enable un-assigned tasks also to be mass cancelled.
- Provision to capture a 'reason for cancellation' when one or more tasks are canceled through this function.
- The title of the pop-up window now includes the date the listed tasks pertain to
- Provision to capture 'reason for cancellation' when task is implicitly cancelled by moving all its stops to other routes through the 'Route break-apart' function.
- Added support for the following three time-zones:
- Atlantic Standard / Daylight Time
- Newfoundland Standard / Daylight Time
- Hawaii-Aleutian Standard / Daylight Time
- In the DriveOn app, a feature has been added to enable the user delete his/her account.
- The 'Lock pay-period' function in the Weekly Payroll screen prompts the user to 'confirm' their intent to lock the given pay-period. A change has been made to remove the 'confirm' button once the user has clicked on it, to prevent the user from clicking on it multiple times when the locking operation is already in progress.
- The provision to send email messages to employees from the 'Employee Messaging' function has been removed since bulk emails originating from the application are being construed as spam by our email provider. There is no change to the provision to send in-app messages via the Dispatch clock and the DriveOn app.
Bug fixes:
- In the Edulog interface, the 'idx' field from the application is now set to the Run name in B360. This was being set from the 'description' field, which resulted in duplicate Run names.
