A Route is a sequence of Runs packaged together to form a single driving task.
The Route screen displays a list of Routes with its attributes as listed in the table below.
Field Name | Description |
Route identifier | The name of the Route or the ‘package of Runs’. |
Dispatch | One of ‘AM’, ‘MD’ (for mid-day) or ‘PM’. Indicates the shift in which the Route needs to operate in. |
Days of the week | The days of the week the Route needs to be operated; this is based on the days the Runs comprising the Route need to operate |
Effective start date | The effective start date of the Route. This is determined by the effective start date of the Runs the Route is made of |
Effective end date | The effective end date of the Route, again, based on the effective end date of the Runs the Route is made or |
Run 1 to Run 4 | The Runs the Route is made of. Each Route can contain four Runs packaged into it. |

Note: To see the start and end times of a Run, hover on the Run name, in the Routes Dashboard. The start and end times of the Run will be displayed as a tooltip.
Viewing Route Details on Map
You can view the details of a route such as the route package details, run details, location of the stops on the map. To view the route details on the map, follow the steps given below:
- Navigate to Operations > Routes.
The Manage Routes Dashboard will be displayed.
- Click icon in the row of the route for which you wish to view the details.
The Route Detail dialog will be displayed.
Add Routes
To add a new Route, follow the steps given below:
- Navigate to Operations > Routes.
The Routes Dashboard will be displayed.
- Click + Add Route.
The fields to add a new route will be displayed.
- Enter / Select the required values for all the fields. For Field Names, Description, and Example Values refer to the Routes Details table.
- Click icon.
The new Route will be added.
Note
When a Route is added to the system, a ‘driving task’ is also added to the Master Schedule that will be visible on the Scheduling screen.
Edit Route Details
You can edit the details of an existing Route in the Routes Dashboard. You can edit details such as the dispatch shift, days of the week for which the route is scheduled, start and end dates of the route, and the runs associated with the Route. However you cannot edit the Route ID. To edit the details of an existing route, follow the steps given below:
- Navigate to Operations > Routes.
The Routes Dashboard will be displayed.
- Click the route for which you wish to edit the details.
The fields of the route will be rendered editable.
- Edit the values of the required fields.
- Click icon.
The details of the route will be updated.
Note: If you do not want to edit the details of a route, after you have selected it for editing, click icon to reset to the original values.
Delete Route
To delete a new Route, follow the steps given below:
- Navigate to Operations > Routes.
The Routes Dashboard will be displayed.
- Click icon in the row of the Route that you wish to delete.
A confirmation dialog will be displayed.
- Click Yes.
The selected route will be deleted.
Note: The system end-dates the Route as of the current date and does not physically delete the route altogether.
