Runs screen overview

A ‘Run’ is a sequence of stops from where students are picked up, to be dropped off at a school (typically in the morning), OR a sequence of stops where students are dropped off after they are picked up from their school (typically in the afternoon), when they are returning home from their schools.

 

The Run screen displays a list of Runs with its attributes as listed in the table below.

Field Name

Description

Run identifier

The name or identifier of the Run

Dispatch

One of ‘AM’, ‘MD’ (for mid-day) or ‘PM’.  Indicates the shift in which the Run needs to operate.

Days of the week

The days of the week the Run needs to be operated.

Effective start date

The effective start date of the Run.

Effective end date

The effective end date of the Run. 

 

A sample Run Dashboard is shown in the screenshot below:

 

To view the Stops belonging to a Run, simply click on the Run.   

A list of Stops pertaining to the Run is displayed at the bottom part of the screen.   The following Stop attributes are displayed:

Field Name

Description

Stop type

Either ‘Stop’ for regular stop, or ‘School’ for school stop

Address

Street address of the Stop or School

City, State, Zip

Additional address details of the Stop or School

Schools

The name of the school, if it is a ‘school’ stop.

Time

The time at which the bus needs to arrive at / depart from the stop

Students

The count of students on-boarding or getting off the bus.  The count is negative for off-boarding and positive for students on-boarding 

Geocode

A green check mark icon  indicates that the stop has been successfully geo-coded for location purposes; a red ‘cross mark’ indicates issue with geo-coding.

Refers to the GeoCode corresponding to the address of the stop.

Note: Geocode is the GPS coordinates for a specific location. ByteCurve 360 automatically creates a circular Geo-fence of 700 feet radius around the location coordinates.

Action

This column contains a ‘delete’ icon, to be used when deleting a stop.

 

 

Filter Runs

You can filter the Runs details displayed in the Runs Dashboard, based on criteria like customer name, school name, start and end dates of the run, dispatch shifts, days of the week, and run name.

 

To filter Runs, follow the steps given below:

 

  1. Navigate to Operations > Runs.

 

The Manage Runs Dashboard will be displayed.

 

 

  1. Click Filter Options.

 

The filter options / criteria will be displayed.

 

 

  1. Select the required values in the filter criteria drop down lists. Refer to the table below for filter criteria, descriptions and example values.

Filter Field Name

Description

Customer Name

Refers to the name of the customer. It can either be a School (customer of a contractor) or a School District.

School

Refers to the name of the school.

Start Date

Refers to the starting date of the Run

End Date

Refers to the end date of the Run

Dispatch-AM

Refers to the routes which pick the students in the morning and drop them to school. 

Dispatch-PM

Refers to the routes which pick the students from school in the afternoon and drop them home

Dispatch-MD

Refers to the routes which pick the students from school in the noon and drop them home. This dispatch is mostly for Kindergarten students. 

Dispatch-FP

Not currently used

Dispatch-FT

Refers to the Field Trip dispatch where the bus takes students for Sports, Picnics, Museum and so on where the school has to provide transportation.

Dispatch-CH

Refers to the Charter where private customers hire busses for personal use. School Districts let out busses for charter trips to earn extra income.

Days of the Week

Refers to the day(s) of the week when the Run is scheduled

Run Name

Refers to the name of the Run

 

  1. Click Submit.

 

Filtered Runs based on the selected filter criteria will be displayed. A sample filter result for the criteria Customer Name Poway Unified School District, Start Date 07/08/2019, End Date 08/02/2019, Dispatch PM, and the Days of the Week MTWRF is shown in the below screenshot.

 

Add / Delete Run

You can add a new run. To add a new run, follow the steps given below:

 

  1. Navigate to Operations > Runs.

 

The Runs Dashboard will be displayed.

 

 

  1. Click + Add Run.

 

The fields to add the run and the Stop details for run section will be displayed.

 

 

  1. Enter the required values in the run details fields. For Field Names, Description, and Example values, refer to the Run Details.
  2. Enter the required details in the Stop details for run fields. For Field Names, Description, and Example values, refer to the table below:

 

Note

  • Every Run must have at least one School and one Stop in the Stop details for run section. 
  • To add stop details of more schools, click Add School
  • To add stop details of more stops, click Add Stop.

 

  1. Click Save.

 

The new run details along with the stop details will be added.

 

Note

  • To delete a Run, click  icon in the row of the Run that you wish to delete and click Yes in the confirmation dialog. The selected Run will be deleted.
  • To edit the details of a Run, click the field that you wish to edit. All the fields of the Run will become editable. Edit the required values and click  icon. The details of the Run will be updated. 

 

When a Run is deleted, the Run is end-dated as of that date, and if it is part of a Route Package, it is removed from that Route.

To reset the details of a Run, click  icon. The original values of the run details will be updated.

 

 

Edit Stop Details in Map

You can view / edit the stop details of a Run in the Map. To edit the stop details, follow the steps given below:

 

  1. Navigate to Operations > Runs

 

The Runs Dashboard will be displayed.

 

 

  1. Click any field in the Run for which you wish to edit the stop details on the Map. 

 

The Stop details for run for the selected Run will be displayed.

 

  1. Click Map.

 

The stop details along with the map will be displayed in a dialog.

 

 

  1. Click the stop detail field that you wish to edit. All the fields of that Stop will become editable. Make the required changes.
  2. Click Save.

 

The Stop details will be updated.

Note: To delete a Stop, click
