The route import process allows users to add new Home to School (HTS) routes, with or without runs associated them, via an XLSX file.

Creating Your XLSX File

An excel file template is provided at the end of this document as an attached file. The fields in the XLSX file are detailed below.

The value in the 'action' column drives the import functionality as follows:

  • ‘Add’ – System will add the corresponding record. If a record already exists with the same ‘Route identifier’ value as the record being imported, system will display an error.
  • ‘Delete’ – System will find an existing record with the same ‘Route identifier’ value as the record in the import file and delete the record.  If no match is found among the existing records in the system, an error message will be displayed.

Graphical user interface, application

Description automatically generated

        3. The pop-out screen for “Import Routes” will appear. Specify the customer the routes should be imported for before selecting your xlsx file and choosing upload.

        4. After selecting upload, you will get confirmation that the data has been successfully uploaded.

        5. If any of the optional fields encounter issues, such as trying to add a vehicle to a task with overlaps, an orange warning will appear. In these instances the import will still go through, but the data causing the warning will be imported in such a way that it does not cause any errors.

                a. For example, if a task is to be added that does not allow overlaps any vehicle or employee associated with that task will be left off.

        6. If any actual errors are encountered, they will be highlighted in red and the import will be ignored, please take a screenshot, and send the screenshot, as well as your XLSX file to support@bytecurve.com for further assistance. Do not try uploading the file again.
